**Special requirements for this post**:
None.

**About you**:
About the role - we are looking for someone who will support the Adults Care market in particular for older people.

You will work across council services and health structures including placed based working to ensure the effective commissioning of our delivery programme for older adults. In particular, you will support current initiatives around the recommissioning of homecare and reablement, our work with carers and work with providers to ensure a fair cost of care and value for money for the Council. Your ability to develop strong working relationships with a range of partners will be key.

The postholder will need to be dynamic, solutions-focused and a strong relationship builder who is used to working in a high-pressured environment. This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to have a foot in both strategy and operations and who wants to play a pivotal role in the development of an effective care market.

This will include coordinating and working alongside health partners in particular NEL ICB and the Barking place based partnership.

You will be ambitious for the residents of Barking and Dagenham and proud to work with and to represent our diverse communities with creativity and commitment.

**About us**:
The Adults Commissioning team is central to supporting the Council to achieve good quality care and support for local residents at prices that are fair to the market and offer value for money. Working in partnership with the wider Barking and Dagenham place based partnership will be critical for future service delivery success for residents.

Barking and Dagenham is a diverse borough which is undergoing rapid change. The Council has transformed the way it provides services and has become London’s biggest growth opportunity with a growing reputation as a place to invest and prosper. We have a laser focus on delivering for our residents - whether it’s tackling the inequalities people face or, quite simply, delivering the best services every day. We’re creating and fostering the conditions and opportunities for people to thrive here - and for our residents to live healthy, fulfilling lives for longer, with more choice and control, better financial resilience, in safe, supportive, and inclusive communities. Local people must benefit from the growth and positive changes that are happening here, and to achieve this we’re addressing the root causes of poorer outcomes, including poverty and inequality. It’s not enough to just bring new jobs and homes to the borough - making sure no one is left behind is fundamental to our plans.
