**FOR NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION**

This is a key role within the supply strategy team responsible for providing NPI sourcing strategy recommendations, end-to-end supply chain vision, including cost of goods estimate, and balanced scorecard measures and targets for the asset for governance approval. The MSCL is a member of the CMC matrix team and Medicine Commercialisation team (MCT). Within the CMC matrix team, the MSCL, in partnership with the CMC Development & Industrialisation Lead (CMC DI Lead), will provide input to ensure that products are designed to value (appropriate SC design and attributes to meet the commercial segmentation/ambition) and continue to collaborate with the MCT to ensure that the product is value engineered to meet customer and stakeholder requirements.

The MSCL supports the CMC DI Lead from early commercial sourcing decisions through to launch and then formation and execution of the lifecycle strategy. The role holder engages with an asset at around C2P2 or in sufficient time to endorse sourcing decisions which support first pivotal manufacture to take place aligned to both the CMC plan and network strategy.

The MSCL leads the Medicine Supply Chain matrix team (MSCT) to develop and execute supply chain strategy including the supply chain design and product lifecycle strategy.

Then at the appropriate point, typically at the commit to filing and launch plan review, a Transfer of Accountability (ToA) contract between the MSCL/CMC DI Lead will be agreed and endorsed at the CMC Board. The MSCL takes on the Single Point Accountability Decision Maker (SPADM) role for the asset from the CMC DI Lead at the agreed timing and leads the asset matrix team via the MSCT.

MSCL may be supported by a CMC DI Lead post asset ToA leading development projects as part of the lifecycle e.g. more complex development activity often driven by specialty products

**FOR COMMERCIALISED PRODUCTS**

The role of the Medicine Supply Chain Lead (MSCL) is to develop and/or maintain a comprehensive product lifecycle strategy for the end-to-end supply chain that aligns both short
- & long-term Global Supply Chain (GSC) resources to provide a total supply perspective. This perspective includes sourcing (make vs. buy), technical, quality, digital, data and analytics, investments, suppliers, and regulatory strategies to ensure that the product and supply chain strategy continues to be evolved and the supply chain designed and updated to meet customer value and manage risks.

Collectively the Therapy Supply Chain Team will drive excellence and consistency throughout the supply chain from a strategic and operational perspective. As a key part of this team, the MSCL will ensure that processes and resources are effectively and efficiently utilized to ensure continuity of supply for the asset. The MSCL will ensure that the product, components and excipients are managed to minimize risk and maximise revenue.

**Key Responsibilities**:** Supply chain leadership supporting successful file/launch of new products**
- Leads the Medicine Supply Chain matrix team (MSCT) to develop and execute supply chain strategy preparing and maintain Medicine Lifecycle Supply Strategy’s (MLSS) and End-to-End Supply Chain Visions for each of the new products within the Therapy.
- Ensures CMC plan and recommendations for PPQ, PAI readiness, file and launch, and early lifecycle meet the commercial ambition aligning make plans to minimize risk against approval/forecast scenarios
- Converts global product revenue scenarios into product volume forecasts for all new products and proposes GSC options to respond to these scenarios.
- Secures launch readiness and balancing risk against approval/forecast scenarios.
- Outlines long range CoGs projections for commercial use incorporating associated plans for continuous improvement

**Acquisition of Commercial Intelligence**
- Working with the MCTs and Commercial Platform teams, the MSCL develops a global commercial picture for specific products within their Therapy including key risks, issues & sensitivities. Translates this data into GSC specific product related information within the 0 - 10 year timeframe.

**Development of GSC Product strategy to support the Commercial ambition**
- Working with Commercial / R&D / GSC Internal & Third-Party SC sites and functions the MSCL develops supply strategies for specific products within the Therapies.
- Leads scenario planning to ensure GSC supply chain plans robustly support commercial ambition
- Prepares sourcing decisions supported by financial business cases and recommends capacity and technical capability requirements to allow GSC to meet the commercial ambition.
