As a team the Vascular Surgery Specialist Nurses are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to support the delivery of patient care to the Vascular patients of Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

This is an interesting and varied role which is unique as you will have face to face contact with patients along side the admin role. This provides a energetic working environment for an individual who has admin skills but enjoys face to face interaction with patients.

You will be a member of the LTHTR vascular team based at BVH, providing secretarial and administrative support to the vascular nurses, consultants and any other staff. You will assist in effective communication and recording of the patient outcomes from vascular clinics and will support all administrative and clerical issues relating to vascular patients’ pathway of treatment, investigations and surveillance.

You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be reliable, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate an excellent IT knowledge, maintaining a consistently high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.

Be the point of contact for all day-to-day enquiries, referring where necessary to more senior staff.

Responding to external and internal telephone queries from patients, HCPs and others and referring to appropriate person.
Booking nurse led clinics and ensuring patient appointments are sent out.
Organise the daily work, ensuring files and lists are available and up to date
Facilitate investigations done in a timely manner
Utilise various IT packages, being able to navigate RPH and BVH systems
Take the lead in ordering items for the department and maintaining stock.
Participate and contribute to developments in customer service provisions in line with Trust policies
