**Location: Based in South Wales Skylight**

**About the role**

As Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to end their homelessness. You will welcome people and listen carefully to their story whilst providing information, advice, and guidance. This role ensures that anyone who contacts the service will get an immediate response from the Engagement and Assessment team. The team will be making sure that anyone who would benefit from services, support and advice elsewhere will be signposted and referred. When we're best placed to help, people will be rapidly allocated a Crisis Lead Worker.

**About you**
- Knowledge and experience of providing IAG, the applicant should hold or be willing to work towards an IAG qualification
- Be able to identify presenting needs, establish if someone meets the criteria for Skylight services and if not, using expertise on homelessness, housing, and benefits to signpost to appropriate services
- Deliver excellent customer focused advice and guidance
- The key to success will be your ability to integrate with the Crisis Client Services team on a day-to-day basis; to make collaborative, consistent and Psychologically Informed relationships with members and colleagues.

You may have experience in working within a relevant sector e.g., homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, or criminal justice. You may also hold or develop one or more areas of expertise (such as housing led practice, relevant homelessness legislation, welfare benefits, landlord and tenancy law, employment support health and wellbeing mental health, drug and alcohol treatment pathways, MAPPA, MARAC, or other criminal justice services) (to enhance the effectiveness of your multi-disciplinary team’s ability to support members and engage effectively with partners.
