This role will involve the implementation of high standards of health, safety and security management to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, contractors and other users of the Trusts premises. You will provide support and expert advice on matters of health, safety and security including the delivery of training and ensure that the learning from incidents, audits and inspections is shared and acted upon.

You will be required to work with staff and colleagues at all levels in the organisation. You will be highly effective in your communication skills, be able to work to tight timeframes, and have exceptional organisational skills. You will be flexible, have the ability to work as part of a team and the willingness to provide cover in the absence of the Trust’s Health and Safety lead.

Main

**Responsibilities**:

- To provide health, safety and security advice guidance and support to staff and others as necessary.
- To review relevant policies as necessary to ensure compliance and that they are relevant to then needs of the Trust.
- Lead/assist in the review of any relevant policies
- To disseminate relevant Alert notices i.e. Fraud, Theft and Security related alerts and monitor compliance throughout the Trust
- To deliver and or co-ordinate Conflict Resolution and Breakaway techniques training courses to meet the needs of The Trust. A willingness to undertake necessary training to deliver this internal training programme.
- To undertake risk assessments and assist in their completion throughout the Trust to ensure the process is undertaken correctly in accordance with legislative requirements and Trust policy.
- To work with colleagues within the Trust and community and ATLAS (Trust subsidiary) to ensure works undertaken and future proposed works take in to account aspects of health, safety and security at all times.
- To report and to assist staff to report health, safety and security incidents on the Trusts incident reporting package (Ulysses)
- Assist with incident investigations for any staff RIDDOR reportable incidents, reporting incidents and provide reports and updates as necessary to the Trusts Health, Safety Security and Governance Committee meetings.
- To undertake inspections/audits as necessary to ensure the workplace is deemed fit for purpose and to reduce the element of risk to all concerned.
- To undertake incident investigations in a timely and professional manner to assess causation allowing preventative actions to be taken reducing the possibility of a recurrence being realised.
- To ensure confidentiality of information and compliance with the Data Protection Act.
- Prioritise their own workload to ensure deadlines are met and work is of an appropriate standard.
