Glasgow, United Kingdom McKinlay Kidd Full time

**The Place**:
We are seeking an Operations Assistant to make a real difference at McKinlay Kidd, an ambitious and friendly company in the domestic/ inbound travel sector.

McKinlay Kidd offer tailormade and experience-led holidays throughout Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales and the Channel Islands, from road trips to small group rail tours. We have grown significantly in recent years and the company is on a firm financial footing.

Our customers are predominantly older, well-educated and well-travelled couples from both the UK and overseas. They expect great service and authentic holiday experiences. Many of them return to us again and again.

We pride ourselves on personal service and every member of our team actively contributes to the company’s success.

McKinlay Kidd has won numerous awards over many years due to our high levels of customer satisfaction.

**The Role**:
The Operations Assistant must be committed to delivering outstanding service levels and attention to detail from the moment a customer has booked a trip to after their return from holiday.

It is essential for you to provide a first class service at all times when speaking with our customers, partners and colleagues.

This role will also entail the fulfilment of other general administration and office duties as required by the Company.
- You will relish the challenge of working in a supportive yet fast-paced office environment.
- The ability to be a quick learner is necessary.
- You will be a skilled communicator and computer literate.
- You will have excellent knowledge of the geography of Scotland - and possibly the rest of the UK and Ireland - and be passionate about encouraging visitors from home and overseas to explore beyond-the-beaten track.

You will relish challenges and problem-solving in the face of unexpected events and difficult situations, seeking solutions that are practical and right for the individual customer in line with company values. There is plenty of scope for working on your own initiative and taking on more responsibility within the team. You will be supported to develop your career within McKinlay Kidd.

While experience in the travel or hospitality industry might be beneficial, we welcome applicants from other backgrounds too - a can-do attitude and passion for exploring and sharing the best of Scotland, plus the rest of the UK and Ireland, are the most important assets for this role.

You will report to the Operations Manager and work closely with McKinlay Kidd colleagues across product development, sales and marketing.

You will welcome the opportunity to join a small company, where decision-making is swift and not restricted by corporate structures.

This is a permanent, full-time position, based in our office in central Glasgow. Some evening and weekend working may be required at peak times as well as taking your turn to cover the 24/7 duty rota for customers on holiday.

We operate an annual company-wide performance-related bonus and encourage and facilitate team members to visit and experience our destinations and product.
