Our fabulous #TeamNLCSChildrenandAdults are expanding and on the lookout for enthusiastic and understanding individuals with great communication skills and a zest for life to join them as Support Practitioners. We have up to 30 hour contracts available.

**We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. **We have our own Training Academy that'll give you all the skills you'll need; We'll even fund your SVQ/SCQF qualifications and your yearly SSSC fee

**The Role**

No two days are ever the same; you will be joining a friendly and dynamic team who provide tailored support to children, young people and adults. You'll also find yourselves getting involved in many of their hobbies and interests too, which include going for walks, out to the cinema and to the pub, doing arts & crafts, listening to music, swimming, attending the gym and other outdoor activities and volunteering.

As a **Support Practitione**r, you'll help the individuals we support with all aspects of daily living, including going to appointments, personal care, shopping, cooking, housework and medication. Our aim is to enable the people we support to live a fulfilling and valued life, where they can achieve their own personal goals and aspirations. You will participate in the planning and delivery of person-centred care and encourage the people we support to express their views and wishes. With your help we will enable the people we support to play an active role within their local communities.

**For this role it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence as many of the people we support have their own Mobility cars.**

To be a great **Support **Practitioner**, you will be:

- full UK driving licence and 1 year's driving experience
- a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
- able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills
- able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with different people
- a problem-solver and able to think on your feet and use your initiative
- competent in the use of computers t
- a good motivator with a positive, can-do attitude
- reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support

**Shift Pattern**

Your normal hours of work will be between 0830 - 2100 hours, Monday to Sunday, and will be a mix of split shifts, shorter shifts and longer block shifts of support. Weekends, sleepovers and public holidays will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

**Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment of £109.00 per night.**

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
