**Job Description**:
We’re looking for someone to create and deliver a strategy for an agile Technology Governance capability taking into account the current regulatory focus as well as the Society’s core priorities and transformational change.

This role will take forward our Technology Governance model to expand capabilities across all technology teams ensuring a proportionate balance of risk/reward and collaboration between key stakeholders from multiple teams.

What you’ll be doing
- Taking into account future strategic direction and transformational change, you’ll be responsible for defining and rebranding a Technology Governance model that is fit for purpose, supports agile working and is proportionate whilst protecting the Society.
- You’ll be responsible for implementing the Technology Governance Strategy working collaboratively across Technology teams. You’ll help to shape the future operating model and define supporting processes to support the strategy with a plan to put in place a proportionate and future focused approach to governance.
- You’ll be able to influence a forward-looking view of governance to adapt, support and align to agile working practices and changes in technology, working collaboratively with technology stakeholders from multiple teams as well as across the three lines, where you will work closely with colleagues from Operational Risk and Audit.
- You’ll provide advice, oversight and challenge on the implementation of risk appetite, policies, processes and systems across SBS, working with stakeholders to achieve business objective.
- You’ll produce quality reports for relevant governance groups, providing SME input.

What you'll bring to the role
- Degree/qualification in a related field or equivalent work experience, eg Certified in Information Systems Risk & Control (CRISC) or Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
- Proficiency in IT risk management and audit (risk and controls, security policy framework)
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Confident communicator, facilitator and influencer
- Broad knowledge of technology environments including cloud frameworks, ITIL, ISMS, PCI and NIST.
- Thorough knowledge of IT controls and an understanding of risk and control frameworks, such as COBIT.
- Demonstrable experience in IT Risk Management, audit or compliance with significant experience of risk and designing and implementing IT controls.
- Experience of leading teams.
- Experience of leading risk assessment activities and implementing achievable and appropriate remediation plans.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and ability to collaborate with and influence team members and stakeholders.
- Experience of working in financial services id desirable but not essential.
