**What you'll work on**

The purpose of this role is to provide the day-to-day management of the team with particular emphasis on the delivery of the Housing Support functions highlighted. The postholder will be required to work closely with the Benefits Team Leader to deliver a holistic service that meets the needs of the client and the “CAN DO” values of the Council.

The team consists of six main areas of activity;
- Outreach work with those who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, in hospital and require support to return home
- Providing housing options, advice and guidance to those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness with the aim to assist with prevention of homelessness at the earliest possible stage
- The provision of temporary accommodation including the provision of private sector leased accommodation.

**A few things to note**
- The rate for this role is £28.25 per hour
- The role until Friday 28 April 2023 initially

**What we're looking for**
- Three years’ experience at supervisory level or above in a team delivering Housing Needs Advice, Homelessness and Prevention activities
- An in-depth understanding of the relevant existing and pending legislation in housing, homelessness and the statutory relegations affecting the private rented sector
- Experience of leading motivating and inspiring team members to continuously strive for service improvement in a constantly changing environment
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to use monitoring data to transform service delivery
- Experience of showing resilience within a changing environment and taking responsibility for implementing and driving change. Good time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise to meet conflicting deadlines
- Experience of working well within a team and under own initiative and of maintaining professional boundaries with clients and partner agencies
- Excellent listening and communication skills with a wide range of people of all ages and backgrounds
- A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality, safe practice, safeguarding, anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunity
- Experience of using, implementing and testing IT solutions to assist the work of the team
- Full driving licence and access to vehicle to facilitate home visits and attendance at external meetings.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £28.25 per hour
