**Enhanced DBS disclosure required for this role**

The purpose of the role is to work alongside the Quality Assurance Team to deliver change initiatives that will lead to development and improvement in practice across children’s services.

Undertake work within the Safeguarding and Service Standards Unit including audit activity to raise standards with Children’s Services and support development of the service and practice.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Chair and minute relevant statutory Child in Need meetings within agreed timescales
- Ensure Child in Need decision outcomes are SMART and focused on areas of concern and identified outcomes to be achieved
- Chair initial CIN meetings following step-down from child protection as well as any other complex case as directed.
- Identify any concerns in relation to the multi-agency network around a child and monitor the implementation of plans.
- Chair complex CIN meetings and other Multi-Agency as required.
- Promote improvement in practice standards by monitoring and reporting on local examples of good practice by individuals and teams and any national examples identified by research or experience.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the multi agency network relevant to the aforementioned duties and provide specialist advice and consultation as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Qualified social worker.
- Registered with Social Work England.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Experience of successfully managing child protection work in a qualified social work capacity, in line with national IRO guidance.
- Experience of working and managing within a complex, changing environment.
- Experience of working and managing multi agency child protection partnerships. Knowledge of Child Care legislation and guidance relevant to child protection.
- Experience in the delivery and continuous improvement of services for children.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
