Job overview
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and creative Children and Young Person's Wellbeing Practitioner's (CWP) to join our teams in the London Borough of Havering CAMHS.
The new qualified CWP role supports the government's priority of increasing access and availability of mental health and well-being support for children and young people. The post holder will demonstrate an active interest in early intervention, prevention and promotion, clinical work in community settings, collaborative practice and be skilled in delivering low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy interventions.
This position is part of the Havering CAMH service which is a multi-disciplinary service providing specialist mental health support to children, young people and their families. The service is available to families with children and young people from birth to their 18th birthday. The service provides a range of community based, multi-disciplinary interventions, as well as specialist treatments and consultation to partnership agencies.
Main duties of the job
CWP's provide Early Intervention, Prevention and Promotion working in partnership to provide support for mild to moderate difficulties using evidence based guided self-help interventions to both parents and young people. In addition to the low intensity face to face manualised interventions, the post holder will provide psycho education, specific groups, signposting of more complex cases, adopting a community approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).

Essential criteria
A Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Child and Young Person’s Psychological Wellbeing Practice from an accredited training provider
Desirable criteria
Psychology or other health /social care/youth related undergraduate degree Other relevant postgraduate degree
Experience
Essential criteria
Experience of working with children and young people as a Child Wellbeing Practitioner Experience in providing CBT interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and common behavioural difficulties
Desirable criteria
Experience working as part of a team Experience of working in mental health or related services Experience of working with other agencies outside of the NHS Worked in a service where agreed targets in place to demonstrating outcomes
