Your new role
We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our wonderful school and work with our exceptional students. We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Team Leader to join our well established residential care team. Among other responsibilities the appointedperson will be involved in all aspects of the effective and safe running of the residential provision of the school, managing pupil behaviour effectively and in accordance with the schools policies.
Desirable experience/qualifications
- Successful experience of working with children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements for independent boarding schools
- GCSE/A Level or equivalent
- A valid driving licence is required
About Wilds Lodge:
We are an Ofsted Outstanding independent 38 week specialist boarding and day provision for boys and girls aged between 5 and 19 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We have a person-centred focus, providing each child with a personalised educationand care programme tailored to help meet their unique needs. The key to the success of the school is a strong ethos, developed by a highly experienced and capable staff, and the strength of the relationships between the staff and the students.
The school draws nationally from Local Education Authorities and currently has approximately 100 students on roll of which a small percentage are day students. The students are grouped into five residential houses with close regard to their chronological age,their social needs and their personal maturity. The main needs of pupils with SEN at the school are social, emotional and mental health difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Experience of working with people with autism is not necessary, but a commitment to learning is.
The appointed person will be expected to make a real and positive impact to the lives of children who have a range of care needs (SEMH/AHD), life experiences and personalities that makes every day varied and interesting. If you have a caring nature, a naturalinterest in people and want to make a difference then this just might be the job for you.

All our members of staff attend regulartraining on child protection; mental health and multi-agency working. Working hours:
Shifts include 8.00am - 4.00pm (day) or 2.30pm - 10.00pm (late).
Rotation of shifts on rota basis, notified in advance. An example of a working week could look like:
Monday: 8.00am - 4.00pm
Tuesday: 2.30pm - 10.00pm
Wednesday: 8.00am - 4.00pm
Thursday: 2.30pm - 10.00pm
Friday: 8.00am - 4.00pm
Occasional Sunday shift on a rota basis: 5.30pm - 10.00pm
