Mental Health Support Worker

Job Summary:
EdEx - Education Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Unqualified Mental Health Assistant to join our team at a reputable Primary School in Hackney. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work closely with children with SEN/SEMH needs, providing individualized support and assistance in a classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN/SEMH needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, and SpLD.
- Assist class teachers in delivering core subject material and supporting pupils with their learning.
- Work collaboratively with the school's SENCO and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting the well-being and mental health of all pupils.
Requirements:
- Graduate with a strong academic record (2:1 or 1st Class degree)
- Passion for working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN/SEMH needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of SEN/SEMH needs and the ability to adapt to individual needs
