Job Introduction

At Turning Point, we are committed to helping individuals recover from addiction and achieve their goals. Our community-based substance use services in the City of London and Hackney are seeking a talented individual to join our team as an Outreach Worker.

About the Role

As an Outreach Worker, you will be part of a team focused on enhancing access to support and recovery services for the rough sleeping community. You will work to mitigate physical and psychosocial barriers to service delivery and create a long-lasting systemic change in service delivery to the rough sleeper population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide calm, consistent support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis
  • Work towards achieving individual and team objectives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a holistic and person-centered treatment package
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with service users, colleagues, and partners
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service strategies and policies
Requirements
  • Understanding of the challenges experienced by people with a dual diagnosis
  • Ability to work in a recovery-oriented, person-centered, non-judgmental manner
  • Experience of working with vulnerable populations and managing incidents of verbal and physical aggression
  • Good time management and ability to work to deadlines
  • Confident and effective communicator
