  • Risk Mitigation: Monitor and address any risks associated with emotional dysregulation, harmful sexualized behaviours, and physical safety by following established mitigation strategies and safeguarding protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with therapy teams, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a consistent approach to the student care and education.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the student progress, incidents, and any adaptations to his support plan. Contribute to regular reviews and meetings with the multidisciplinary team and the student family.

  • Behaviour Management: Proficiency in implementing behaviour management strategies, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to use alternative communication methods (e.g., visual schedules, social stories).
  • Patience and Empathy: A patient, empathetic approach to supporting children with special needs, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to maintain detailed records, manage time effectively, and adapt plans as needed.
  • Physical Fitness: The ability to perform physical interventions if necessary (with training provided).
