By building links internally and across the relevant sectors, you will be supporting education and research initiatives directly within our Faculty and across our partnership. The postholder will work closely with key stakeholders including the Faculty’s newly appointed Director of Engagement and Place, and senior Professional Services colleagues. The postholder will join the Data and Communications community, which is a broader community of professional services colleagues within FMS.

Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Faculty of Medical Sciences Patient and Public Engagement and Involvement Strategy, working with the Faculty Director of Engagement and Place, Head of Operations and the Head of Faculty Research
- Co-ordinate Faculty engagement project meetings and committees, preparing agendas, papers, minutes and follow-up actions. Co-ordinate engagement projects and working groups as required
- Deliver activity that ensures researchers are aware of the benefits and impact of public and patient engagement and involvement in the design and dissemination of research.
- Deliver a programme of engagement events, liaising across the Faculty to ensure a joined-up approach, for example with the Faculty EDI Team and colleagues in related PPI/E roles.
- Support the planning and delivery of participatory events such as through developing event objectives, marketing and communication materials, organisation, evaluation and dissemination of findings and impact.
- Provide day-to-day support for colleagues who wish to undertake engagement and involvement activity by providing information, training and advice on engagement-related queries; hosting drop-in sessions; keeping the Faculty Engagement. Toolkit and internal and external webpages up to date
- Disseminate and build awareness of best practice in PPI/PPE strategies across the Faculty, encouraging uptake of relevant opportunities
- Working with the Director of Engagement and Place and VOICE colleagues, establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant external stakeholders including patient groups, research funding bodies, community groups, voluntary sector, NHS and social care organisations
- With the Director of Engagement and Place, develop a coordinated approach to engagement within the Faculty, via streamlined processes and effective communications
- Manage information held within the Faculty, identifying engagement opportunities and liaising with Institutes and Schools, providing a cohesive presence at engagement events and activities
- With the Director of Engagement and Place, develop and maintain a system of recording Faculty engagement activity to produce regular reports to Faculty Executive Board and the University Engagement and Place Committee
- Manage and monitor agreed budgets, providing regular financial reports to the Head of Operations and Head of Faculty Research
