LUHFT has an ambitious aim to have the 'best safety culture in the NHS' and to support this we are pleased to provide this opportunity working across LUHFT's sites (The New Royal, Aintree and Broadgreen) as a Quality Improvement Lead in one of the North West's largest Quality Improvement Teams.

The post holder will have a passion for Quality Improvement, be proficient in the improvement science and have experience in delivering this in a business environment. Previous NHS experience isn't a prerequisite and we would be considerate of clinical colleagues with experience.

Aligned to the delivery of the Trusts Quality and Safety Strategy and LUHFT's Improvement Plan, the post holder will have responsibility for facilitation and strategically important components of this.

The post holder will have the ability to create a culture and commitment to Quality Improvement throughout the Trust.

**The post holder will**:
Provide Quality Improvement expertise and advice within the organisation.

Have responsibility for the improvement science elements of a number of projects within the Quality and Safety Strategy and Improvement Plan for LUHFT, for the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.

Ensure that all projects incorporate Quality Improvement science, grounded in the Model for Improvement from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement.

Take responsibility for the delivery of outcomes described in the Trust’s Quality and Safety Strategy & Improvement Plan and able to delegate and support the work of the wider QI team.

Continuously seek out emerging knowledge in the field of improvement science and ability to horizon scan recognised sources to remain current and to access information that could enhance our QI approach.

Have the content knowledge and ability to teach all quality improvement concepts, tools and techniques to a host of varied audiences.

Look for opportunities to develop all areas of work in line with a culture of continuous improvement.

Present to large groups of staff (can be 100+), both internally and externally. Able to present trust quality and safety strategy as well as articulate wider work going on in the trust outside of QI.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.

Provide Quality Improvement expertise and advice within the organisation.

Has responsibility for the improvement science elements of a number of projects within the Quality and Safety Strategy for LUHFT, for the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.

Ensure that all projects incorporate Quality Improvement science, grounded in the Model for Improvement from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement.

Ensure that all projects are supported by a robust local governance structure and provide regular papers / updates to the Quality and Safety Committees both at site and Executive level.

Analyse and evaluate the many diverse and conflicting issues associated with the completion of projects from a Quality Improvement perspective. To support decisions on how resources are to be used on projects and to be responsible for informing the progress of projects.

Provide a high level of content knowledge about all aspects of the Quality and Safety Strategy and is able to act as an approachable source of knowledge to all staff and direct reports.

Ensure that appropriate sustainability plans, documentation and procedures are in place when transitioning quality improvement work to business as usual.

Able to build effective working links with external partners e.g. CCG and external colleagues.

Work to ensure that programmes and projects meet the strategic plans of the organisation.

Takes responsibility for the delivery of outcomes described in the Trust’s Quality and Safety Strategy and able to delegate and support the work of the wider QI team.
