Within NHS 111 and integrated urgent care there are a number of opportunities to develop both clinically and non-clinically and as our service grows, we are always offering support to those who want to take **that next step and develop their career.**

All NHS 111 call handlers are required to complete a number of NHS Pathways and NHS 111 service specific courses in order to be a licensed operator working within the live service. To train to be a highly trained advisor/call handler you will need to be committed to attend one of our **fully paid** training dates.

The full-time programmes runs over a five week period whilst the part-time training runs over a seven week period.

Our next training dates available are:

- **Saturday 9th March
- Part Time - Sat & Sun (9am-5pm) including Tues, Weds, Thurs (5pm-9.30pm) for a total of 6 weeks**:

- **Monday 8th April - Full Time - Monday to Friday (9:00am-5:00pm) for a total of 4 weeks**

**The part course is often smaller numbers - meaning more time to address gaps in knowledge with our trainer, enabling you to build better bonds within the group, which helps when leaving training, easing you in more gently, particularly if never worked in a call centre environment before.

Once you’ve completed your training, we can offer contacts of employment ranging from as little as 16 to 37.5 hours per week, and you are expected to work weekends as this service operates 24 hours, 365 days a year.

**Please note this position is office based, located at Delta 7, West Road, Ransomes Europark, Ipswich, IP3 9FH**

**What you will get**:

- **£11.48 per hour**- daytime and during training (07:00-23:00)
- **£14.27 per hour** - contractual night rate (23:00-07:00)
- **£14.77 per hou**r - weekend night rate (23:00-07:00)
- Previous experience working and communicating with the public (over the phone or face to face/ or previous Call Centre experience
- Ability to use own initiative as appropriate
- to stay calm in the event of the unexpected and under pressure
- to communicate with a variety of different people and build rapport
- to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability and willingness to undertake competency-based training both initially and as ongoing requirement for the post to meet service requirements.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team
- Ability to use initiative and be aware of limitations
- Ability to deal sensitively with distressing, emotional situations
- Ability to relate to others and adapt approach accordingly
- Ability to work unsocial hours including 24/7 shift work and Bank Holidays
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
