The post holder will, without supervision, be responsible for providing clinically based education and guidance on the delivery of safe and effective care, to junior nurses within the specialty. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Facilitate the orientation, induction and continued supervision of new and existing registered nursing staff less experienced or qualified than the post holder to achieve clinical competence associated with skills required in the allocated specialty.

Support the clinical shift manager to appropriately utilise the developing skills of individual team members. Demonstrate leadership ability. Collaborate with the Practice Development Nurse / Nurse Educator to create and implement strategies to enhance the delivery of evidenced based practice.
