Advice Quality Consultant

We are Scotland's premier provider of compliance and business support services to directly authorised financial advisers.

We're looking for an **Advice Quality Consultant** to complete desk-based file reviews and related project work and analysis. Specifically, we are looking for file or case reviewers with experience of technical areas, including defined benefit pension transfers / safeguarded benefits, IHT / trust and later life planning.

This role is predominantly home based however you may be required to attend the Glasgow office for team days throughout the year.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Desk-based file checking for our Member Firms across the full range of financial services products in line with regulatory compliance and company standards
- Desk-based file checking for specialist area products including defined benefit pension transfers / safeguarded benefits, IHT / trust and later life planning (where you have the relevant qualification), in line with regulatory compliance and our internal standards
- Working on complex reviews for consideration as part of due diligence projects and analysing, preparing and delivering reporting requirements for Member Firms
- Preparing effective concise feedback in line with the regulatory compliance and our internal standards
- Conducting meetings with our Member Firms via Teams or face to face
- Keeping up to date with all regulatory and industry changes and ensuring you are maintaining appropriate training records and CPD

**What you need to succeed**:

- Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent level 4 qualification)
- Pension transfer qualification (AF3, AF7, PETR or equivalent)
- Qualifications for specialist areas e.g equity release, long term care, trusts etc
- Ability to demonstrate a broad technical and compliance knowledge and awareness in all areas
- Previous experience in a financial services role: reviewing, advising or analysing in the areas as outlined above
- Experience of working directly with DB pension transfer cases, either file review, advising or paraplanning
- Good evidence of relevant CPD
- Previous experience of technology based solutions to support workflow
- Able to build relationships at all levels, internally and externally
- Excellent written, and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills (notably MS Word and Excel, but also able to learn third party software)
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Comfortable working under pressure
- Able to travel to regional offices when required
