What Your Role EntailsIn this position, you will be a vital member of the Investment DB Business Unit. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting in-depth research analysis and delivering investment advice to a wide array of clients, with a primary focus on our LGPS clients.
Although the role is dynamic, your primary tasks will involve:
  • Directing and advising a portfolio of mainly LGPS clients on various investment matters
  • Providing high-quality, expert investment advice utilizing strategic and innovative approaches
  • Actively engaging in expanding the firm's business through client engagement, relationship building, and involvement in new business initiatives, collaborating with other areas for cross-selling
  • Participating in activities to enhance the profile of your Business Unit and the firm, such as networking and speaking at relevant conferences
  • Enhancing the consulting capabilities of the practice by coaching and guiding junior team members within the client teams
  • Contributing to internal initiatives like Quality Assurance and Learning and Development programs
To excel in this role, you should:
  • Have prior experience in a similar role within a consultancy, fund management, or related investment sector with exposure to LGPS clients
  • Be FFA/CFA qualified, preferably authorized to provide investment advice by the FCA
  • Possess strong commercial awareness of the pensions and employee benefits market
  • Demonstrate experience in consulting on responsible investment issues and knowledge of collective investment vehicles
  • Have a detailed understanding of major asset classes in UK Pension Scheme Strategies and the legislative framework
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, particularly in consulting and influencing stakeholders
  • Bring a flexible, innovative approach to problem-solving for clients
  • Work well in a team, leading by example, and supporting the development of junior colleagues
  • Articulate complex ideas effectively and identify Business Development opportunities
  • Be willing to travel to client and company offices as needed
