About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Investment Consultant to join our Investment DB Business Unit at Hymans Robertson. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research analysis and deliver investment advice to a wide range of clients, with a primary focus on LGPS clients.
  • Direct and advise a portfolio of mainly LGPS clients on various investment matters.
  • Provide high-quality, expert investment advice utilizing strategic and innovative approaches.
  • Engage in expanding the firm's business through client engagement, relationship building, and involvement in new business initiatives, collaborating with other areas for cross-selling.
  • Participate in activities to enhance the profile of your Business Unit and the firm, such as networking and speaking at relevant conferences.
  • Enhance the consulting capabilities of the practice by coaching and guiding junior team members within the client teams.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives like Quality Assurance and Learning and Development programs.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a consultancy, fund management, or related investment sector with exposure to LGPS clients.
  • FFA/CFA qualified, preferably authorized to provide investment advice by the FCA.
  • Strong commercial awareness of the pensions and employee benefits market.
  • Experience in consulting on responsible investment issues and knowledge of collective investment vehicles.
  • Detailed understanding of major asset classes in UK Pension Scheme Strategies and the legislative framework.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in consulting and influencing stakeholders.
  • Flexible, innovative approach to problem-solving for clients.
  • Ability to work well in a team, leading by example, and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas effectively and identify Business Development opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel to client and company offices as needed.

Location
