Ambulatory Care Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated administrator to join our Ambulatory Care Team in the Integrated Care Directorate at Velindre Cancer Centre on a full-time basis.
The Ambulatory Care Co-ordinator is a front facing operational role for supporting patients and also clinical staff. The post is based with the Assessment Unit and Ambulatory Care Unit as part of the Ambulatory and Day Care Service.
The post holder will work collaboratively with several teams, including the IV Access Team (PICC service), Paracentesis and Brachytherapy teams. They will also proactively manage appointments and scheduling for patients needing a range of supportive care procedures to improve the organisation and efficiency of these services. This will require liaising with other teams in the Cancer Centre as patients may be attending for several appointments.
The post holder will co-ordinate the work of the Ambulatory Care teams to ensure there is effective co-operation between departments and directorates across the whole pathway for patients requiring day care procedures and support within VCC and local Health Boards. They will work closely with the Oncology MDT Co-ordinators.
They will provide a range of administrative support to the teams working within the Ambulatory Care Unit at the Cancer Centre linking with cancer site specific multi-disciplinary teams. This will include organising and attending meetings including note taking; compiling data and maintaining spread sheets and databases. The post holder will therefore, need to display effective use of data analysis skills which conform to information requirements, maintenance of data standards, and administrative activity which supports the Ambulatory Care teams in delivering joined up, seamless care to patients with cance
We are therefore, seeking a skilled, reliable and highly organised individual with excellent communication and organisation skills. The post holder requires experience of Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel and PowerPoint; excellent organisational abilities and the capability to work in a confidential manner are of paramount importance in this role. The ability to communicate effectively as part of a team; to work well under pressure and to prioritise the demands in a busy environment are also essential.
