Payroll Assistant

We are seeking a payroll person to work in a busy finance team in York. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for employees accurately and on a monthly and weekly basis. Our client really looks after their team and offers a great working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing payroll for employees on a weekly & monthly basis
- Verifying the accuracy of timesheets, hours worked, and deductions
- Preparing and processing payments to employees
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
- Maintaining accurate records of all payroll transactions, SSP
- Processing new starter forms, P60's and P45's
- Dealing with HMRC queries
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Assisting with other accounting tasks as required
You should have:
- Previous experience in a payroll role, ideally within a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Excellent organisation skills
