We are now recruiting for an experienced Technical Product Owner (TPO) to join us in Kingston-upon-Thames supporting our Travel Republic and Netflights brands.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with Product Management, Delivery Management and Engineering, organising and prioritising team backlogs with work spread across feature, function, non-functional (NFR), BAU, Technical Debt, spikes and ceremonies.
As a Technical Product Owner you’ll be responsible for eliciting, analysing, validating, specifying, verifying, and managing business requirements. You will typically own a quarterly roadmap after completion of the PI planning phase, supporting the team(s), maintaining acceptance criteria on items into the roadmap, ensuring focus on current and future iterations and preparing backlogs for subsequent iterations.
We need someone with proven experience working in Agile Delivery, either as a Business Analyst, Technical Product Manager or Technical Product Owner
This is a hybrid role working 3 days each week in our Kingston office and 2 days remotely.
**Job Accountabilities**
- Analyse the end-to-end requirement, understanding the effect of any requested change from a business and technical viewpoint
- Take ownership of the backlog post the PI planning sessions ensuring the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories to work on
- Prepare and facilitate pre-sprint activities
- Ensure Service Desk items are analysed and prioritised into a backlog
- Deliver clear, concise and accurate user stories and acceptance criteria
- Ensure technical debt and NFR’s are captured, refined, and prioritised across all sprints
- Capture additional BAU, Ceremony, and Spike activities, and work with Delivery Management to incorporate into team backlogs
- Assist in the preparation of system demo’s per iteration
- Support the preparation and delivery of PI demos to stakeholder group, via ‘Inspect & Adapt’ workshops
- Maintain the quality and integrity of features within their technical and team boundaries, ensuring identification and contribution to risks and dependencies
- Attend and contributes to key Product Management meetings, in particular PI Planning
- Define metrics to measure the success and performance of prioritised work
- Establish and grow a community of Technical Product Owners
- Analyse prioritised Service Desk / BAU barriers issues and work with Product Management to prioritise
- Work with your team(s) to identify and capture IT team driven innovation ideas to get closer to the business, consolidating across peer group for playback up to TPM / TPO and Product Management communities.
**To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications**:
- Demonstrable Agile methodology experience, preferably within a Scaled Agile Framework
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
- An understanding of business analysis principles, processes and techniques
- Able to think analytically, solve problems to complex business processes, and document the results
- Able to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner across functional and technical departments
- Able to develop and prepare process models, functional specifications, and technical requirements
- Process-oriented with sound judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through including the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment
- Driven and committed to project success while working under tight time constraints and pressure
- Able to perform industry research to clarify, define, or satisfy technology or business process issues
