**Job Purpose**
The MVLS Centre of Excellence for Trials Collaboration (CETC) brings together specialist multidisciplinary expertise from across the University and the NHS to concentrate and augment the design and delivery of internationally relevant and innovative trial research. Working closely with the Centre Co-Directors, the Head of Research Regulation and Compliance and the Centre Manager, you will support the management team and ensure excellent administrative processes are in place both within the Centre and the Research Regulation and Compliance Team to support research involving human participants.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1.To provide proactive and efficient administrative support to the Centre Manager and Research Regulation and Compliance team for all aspects of the clinical research, as required.
2 To support the launch, marketing and promoting strategies of the Centre both through internal and external communications, including webpages, social media and public engagement.
3. To facilitate the day-to-day administration of the Centre including the organisation of Centre group meetings, seminars, and events, which will involve booking of appropriate rooms; preparation and distribution of agenda and associated papers; preparation of minutes as appropriate.
4. To coordinate and engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure that effective communication and collaborative efforts are in place to deliver a seamless research support service.
5. To support the development of Centre and governance processes relating to research involving humans, human tissue, and/or data suggesting improvements and making recommendations to enhance the quality of service.
7. To actively maintain and manage central records of research involving humans, their tissue and/or data, in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
8. To assist in the maintenance of relevant webpages and content.
9. To provide administrative support to the Centre Directors, the Centre Manager and the Head of Research Regulation and Compliance.
10.Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the team.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Essential**:

A1 HNC, SVQ3, higher grades or equivalent (SCQF level 7) and experience of personal development in a similar role
A2 Detailed knowledge and understanding of maintaining databases.
A3 Knowledge of financial processes and systems.

B1 Knowledge of Higher Education research administration.
B2 Working knowledge of NHS administrative processes.

**Skills**
Essential:

C1 Strong organisational skills.
C2 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this post, having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
C3 The ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively, respond to changes in demands, whilst delivering work to the required standard and within deadlines.
C4 Excellent oral and written communication skills.
C5 Accuracy and attention to detail.
C6 Ability to work independently and flexibly and adapt to changing environments.

**Experience**
Essential:

E1 Experience in supporting clinical research activity.
E2 Track record of providing high-quality administrative support services in a research environment.
E3 Experience of supporting complex and diverse research projects.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £24,715 - £28,929 per annum.
This post is full time and open ended.
