Head of Partnerships

**Background**
The Professional Squash Association (**PSA**) is the governing body responsible for the administration of both men's and women's professional squash around the world. With close to 1,400 registered players and more than 200 tournaments taking place around the globe every year, the PSA World Tour and PSA Challenger Tour showcase the sport of squash at its highest level in some of the most unique and stunning locations worldwide.
To accelerate the growth of the professional game, the PSA has set up a subsidiary, Squash Media & Marketing (**SMM**), which is responsible for all commercial, marketing and media-related matters in relation to the PSA World Tour and PSA Challenger Tour.
SMM is currently going through an ambitious growth phase, following a recent investment from American sports entrepreneur Mark Walter, and driving revenues from commercial partnerships and sponsorship are key value drivers in the business strategy of SMM.
As a result, SMM is looking for an experienced and passionate individual to lead on those efforts.
**Job Purpose**
To scale the revenues generated by the PSA Group from commercial partnerships with sponsors, brands, media organisations, government institutions and other key stakeholders within the squash community.

**Key Responsibilities**
The key responsibilities of the Head of Partnerships include:
- Take full ownership of refining and executing the PSA Group’s commercial partnership and sponsorship strategy.
- Collaborate with the Senior Management Team, department heads and event promoters to identify the commercial requirements, establish revenue targets and make accurate forecast projections.
- Drive meaningful new sponsorship revenue for the PSA Tour and its key events.
- Develop and implement strategies to generate greater financial support from the public sector for major PSA tournaments.
- Proactively engage with betting operators to secure new partnership deals and increase the associated income for the PSA Group.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the value proposition and offerings to key stakeholders within the sport to derive more revenues for the PSA Group.
- Manage and activate the partnership with Infront, leveraging their resources to drive new revenue from media and sponsorship deals.
- Establish partnerships with sponsorship sales agencies in key markets for professional squash, creating an ‘always-on’ prospecting process.
- Recruit, lead, manage and mentor a global team of sales representatives across specific territories, setting measurable goals for each team member.
- Set up and maintain a CRM database to provide a real-time overview of the sales process, ensuring effective tracking and management of leads, prospects and closed deals.
- Foster strong relationships with key commercial partners of the PSA Group.
- Collaborate with partners to create tailored activation plans that align with their business objectives and engage their target audience effectively.
- Manage and guide the partnership executive responsible for servicing agreements with commercial partners and build out the team in line with the growing partner portfolio.
- Oversee the contract management process, including renewals, for all commercial partners.
- Lead the development of sales collateral to effectively communicate the value proposition to prospective commercial partners.
- Provide regular and comprehensive reporting on all commercial partnerships of the PSA Group, highlighting the value delivered to the business and its partners.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities and potential partners within the global sports industry.
**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Established track-record of driving partnership and sponsorship revenues within sports.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing a sales team.
- Experience in working towards commercial revenue targets.
- Existing contact list of key stakeholders at brands to drive commercial conversations.
- Good presentation skills and ability to pitch opportunities to C-suite level executives.
- Ability to create strategic plans and tactical executions to achieve business objectives.
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills and demonstrable experience in working collaboratively with internal and external teams to achieve targets.
- Proactive in seeking opportunities, finding solutions and making things happen.
- Understanding of key business principles for sports organisations such as commercial, marketing, sales, content and events.
- Desirable: experience working in-house at a sports rightsholder or sports agency.
- Desirable: an interest in squash.
