**What is the role?**

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Aviation Security Trainer to our Team.

As an Aviation Security Trainer, your role involves delivering GSO initial/refresher, GSS initial/refresher courses and On-job Training to Mitie's new and current aviation security officers & Supervisors. Our aim is to constantly enhance the quality of our standards and improve our services.

You will identify opportunities to improve an employee's transition from the classroom to operationally efficient for Security Officers, in line with Mitie's training plan and national regulations.

**What will you do?**
- Proactively review and update material to ensure any legislative changes are included taking personal accountability for the necessary research to ensure the validity of programmes.
- Conducting summative and formative assessments to ensure standards are achieved for classroom and on-job-training, communicating concerns to relevant managers - to reduce non-compliance.
- Completing “wash-ups” for each course and putting action plans in place to capture the learnings, conducting the necessary QA for all content.
- Ensuring necessary assessments and on-job-training is completed within permitted timeframes to reflect live SOPs.

**Do you have what we are looking for**:

- A CAA Certified Instructor Number (CIN). Ideally, you will have this qualification currently or held a CIN within the last two years.
- Knowledge and experience of the aviation security industry and CAA / DfT legislation
- A good standard of written and oral communication
- Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word and competence with Microsoft Excel would be an advantage.
- To have the ability to build training presentations, including trainer's notes, and lesson plans.
- Facilitation and presentation skills are essential in this role, with the ability to deliver training courses when required to both small and large groups.
- Highly effective organisational skills: (e.g., able to manage own workload to deliver against deadlines and targets)
- Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels.
- A strong, effective ‘team player who works collaboratively with their peers on delivery and product design.
- Creative in delivery, but within DfT regulation & CAA syllabus parameters.
- Flexibility, including working hours and product delivery.
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent (Essential)
- Aviation Security Managers course qualification (Essential)
- Recognition of Firearms and Explosives Instructors course (RFXI) qualification (Essential)
- Fire Trainer qualified (Desirable)
- Manual Handling Trainer qualified (Desirable)
- Excellent time keeping
- Self-motivated - can use own initiative.
- The passion for delivering excellent training across Mitie Aviation Security.
