Global Consolidated Contractors (International) Limited are a construction materials commodities trader based in Mayfair, London.
**Job description**
GCC International are seeking to hire a Logistics Associate with significant experience in the breakbulk sector to handle shipping booking for constructions materials shipped as breakbulk from various ports in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) regions, and domestic logistics. The Logistics Associate will report to The Manager of the International Trading department.
**Responsibilities**:
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience in shipping breakbulk from the MENA regions into the United Kingdom
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience in the transportation and logistics sector
- Have exceptional contacts within the shipping and freight-forwarding sector in order to achieve optimal market rates
- Be capable of presenting cost-analysis reports
- Be familiar with Incoterms®and shipping terms
- Will have undertaken logistics training and will maintain awareness of legislation pertaining to logistics sector, from port loading and unloading requirements to safety and security obligations
- Will be an excellent negotiator
- Will be responsive, adaptable and skilled in communications
- Will have excellent organisational skills
- Will adhere to our Quality Management System (QMS) system and ISO 9001:2015 compliance training obligations to ensure that our products maintain a document trail and follow appropriate labelling, transit, and warehousing procedures
- Will maintain office archives
- Will be well-presented and able to meet clients, suppliers and other stakeholders to confidently present logistics planning and cost-structure and price variance models and represent the company
**Qualifications & Required Skills**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the logistics sector
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in Microsoft Excel
- Around 3-5 years of experience in international logistics
- Around 3-5 years of experience in breakbulk
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task with excellent follow-up skills
- Strong written, analytical and verbal communication skills
- Is able to present themselves professionally and confidently
- Excellent negotiator
- Significant contacts in the shipping and freight industry with ability to secure optimum market rates
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm

**Salary**: £25,000 - £34,000 pro rata
