**Job Title**: Activity and Engagement Officer

**Contracted Hours**: Full Time/ Part Time

**Shift pattern**:Core hours 4pm - 7pm, Daily hours fall between 9am - 8pm, Working days are between Monday to Sunday.

Working hours are built around planned activities with children. E.g. A hiking day for the children could fall on a Saturday and this would reduce the number of days worked in the week.

This role does require a level of flexibility to best support the needs of the children and the activities that are planned. For example this could include over nights to accommodate activities like camping weekends.

**Salary**: £25,000 - £28,000

**Location**:Nuneaton, North Warwickshire

**Driving Licence**: Required

Forge Care’s flagship new service, The Forge, is a brand-new, purpose designed Therapeutic Community for children, that is dedicated to facilitating recovery from early traumatic life experiences, disrupted attachment and to reducing the impact of adversity, so that children can make sense of their pasts.

We steward children’s development of trust in themselves and in others, as well as belief in and skills for their future. Our Model of Care is based on neuro developmental, trauma-resolution principles and positive attachment practices and is framed by the Sanctuary Model®.

Within community living we practice boundaries not barriers. Everybody within the community has a role supporting children and stewarding towards holistic wellbeing of all its members.

**Role information**

To plan and engage children with complex behaviours in a range of physical activities that could include mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, hill walking, rock climbing and bouldering etc.

To build relationships with children that are hard to engage and present with a wide of complex needs and behaviours.

To support children that are in the care system to have a wide range of positive lived experience that they perhaps have not had previously.

To build confidence with the children that live at The Forge and support them to reach their full potential.

To organise and support external partners to come into the community to provide specialised activities e.g. yoga classes, exercise clubs, music classes.

**Experience**:
1 year plus experience working with children with challenging behaviour

Sports Coach or Activities Co-Ordinator experience

Experience engaging hard to reach children

**DBS requirement**

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
