British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) are currently looking to recruit an Armed Forces Community (AFC) Engagement Officer.

We are a Social Enterprise (SE) that works in support of the AFC.


Our primary social objective is to work as the focal point between the AFC and commercial businesses, helping the AFC to engage face-2-face (F-2-F) and digitally with companies across the UK, to ensure the right help, support, and advice is provided when moving into future careers.

It is a multi-functional position with emphasis on AFC engagement, attraction, and retention, and everything it encompasses.

  • To support the AFC membership team with engagement into the AFC, including developing and maintaining relationships internally & externally
  • Identifying opportunities for collaboration, meet the needs of our BFRS in their support of the AFC
  • Support AFC membership team with the development and execution of communications plans and activities across multiple projects, acting as a point of contact when needed to maintain positive and productive relationships
  • Help deliver a programme of crossmedia activities through multiple channels to drive engagement, signups, and retention
  • Horizon scan for opportunities for BFRS to engage with its target audiences in a thoughtleadership capacity, including identifying and arranging relevant speaking/networking opportunities for the BFRS team to participate with
  • Handling and resolving member queries
  • Using knowledge of members' needs to assist with the development of tools and support BFRS can offer


You will need to be ex-military (either having served or spouse of), confident at dealing with people at all levels, willing to travel around the UK.

You must be IT competent, with a good level of written English, excellent telephone manner.

Commercial experience is not a requirement

From £25,000.00 per year
