Governance Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and results driven individual to fill the above key role within the Trust.
To work under direction, within the Governance Department function, to implement continuous quality improvement activities identified by the Healthcare Governance Department, Divisions and Directorates as part of the Trust Governance work programmes.
To actively contribute to directorate continuous quality improvement activities, through the implementation of activities policies and procedures to support the Trust with achieving compliance with national external accreditations.

To assist, facilitate, support and provide guidance to directorates in all areas of governance.
To assist in delivering a work programme which enables directorates to undertake quality improvement activities following outcomes, which includes:
- Incident reporting
- Complaints
- Claims
- Inquests
- Risk management
- Compliance standards (including, Health & Safety, Information Governance, external accreditation standards)
Monitor the implementation of NICE guidance and External agency visits
To support the Directorates in the development and implementation of a rolling annual programme of prioritised audit which is linked to both local and national requirements
In conjunction with the Compliance Team to assist Directorates with the identification and collation of evidence for the following:
- Care Quality Commission (CQC)
- Information Governance (IG), including Data Protection Act
- Health & Safety
To facilitate the learning of lessons across the Trust.
