An exciting opportunity has opened up in the Data Security and Protection team to work as an FOI Officer, to help the Trust meet its statutory obligations. The Trust is growing in terms of its technology and scope, covering services such as community, primary care and acute. Working in this field means that no two days are the same.

You will be working in a lovely team, where you will develop and grow. It is face paced environment so you will need to be good at working to own initiative and prioritising workload. The post holder will be point of contact for all FOI requests and support the Information Governance Manager to ensure it is managed and co-ordinated across the organisation.

Experience of working in IG is desirable, as the post holder will be working with a team and will be required to provide support and cover where required. Experience of working in the NHS is not essential but will be hugely beneficial, working in public sector would be desirable.

The post holder will be responsible for receiving and assessing Freedom of Information/ Environmental Regulation (EIR) requests received by the Trust and where necessary, obtaining the relevant information and subsequently disclosing it in line with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), Environmental Information Regulations 2004. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the publication scheme and disclosure log.

The post holder will ensure that these requests are handled in a timely manner in accordance with the relevant legislation, with appropriate consideration of business risks to the organisation and other factors such as guidance from the Information Commissioner.

The post holder will provide administrative cover for the administration post within the same team, way of cover for taking minutes or meetings, following up of actions arising from those meetings, and any other admin tasks that may be required from time to time.
