**Overview**
It’s a great time to join Screwfix. Thanks to the hard work of our team and record-breaking sales, we’re proud to be one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK. And we want to pass that growth onto you.
Whether you’re in procurement, digital, marketing or finance, there’s a role for you here. We’ll support you. And we’ll champion you. Because great things happen when you feel supported to be yourself. We’re innovative. Bold. Adaptable and ambitious. And you will be too.
“Be responsible for setting up the compelling product details that our customers see on our websites”.
In its overseas expansion, Screwfix International is looking for a Product Data Setup Specialist, who will be at the forefront of the product content collection, set-up and maintenance whilst collaborating with teams across the business and constantly look for improved ways of working and processes.
We believe that a hybrid, flexible working approach offers you - and your colleagues - the best of both worlds. Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you’ll work from our head office three days a week, working flexibly around our core working hours of 10am-3pm. Beyond that, how, when and where you work is up to you. With a subsidised canteen, free parking and a comfortable, relaxed environment, we’ve worked hard to build an office you’ll want to work in. We also know that, when it comes to school pick-ups and home deliveries, it’s nice to have the flexibility to do both.
**Key responsibilities**
Objective of the role is to guarantee best in class product content, to allow customers to find the products they are looking for and contribute to the international expansion’s success.
The role consists of 3 key areas:
- New products launch, and as part of this you will be expected to:
- Create all new SKUs from completed range review documents called consol sheets, from set-up, pre-Sale through to Live, in line with Screwfix deadlines
- Ensure that data files are fully accurate, complete, consistent and validated, and conform to the agreed business standards, prior to loading them into the Product Information Manager (PIM)
- Liaise with our third parties, as required; mainly our vendors for data collection and our nominated translation agency to ensure the product data is translated into the relevant languages, and any updates made to the product data fed back to the agency accordingly
- Existing products, to revisit and where your role will be invaluable to:
- Work towards eliminating the current backlog of products to enrich
- Co-own the various initiatives within the Content team and alongside the Web team
- Check and make any necessary changes to product data in the PIM
- Ways of working and processes, where you will:
- Create, manipulate and enhance Excel based product data extracts from the Product Information Manager (PIM)
- Identify
- Recommend process changes to improve data flow, accuracy and efficiency and work towards implementing them across relevant teams
Additionally, you will:
- Take responsibility for your own personal development.
- Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks to achieve team objectives, as requested by your Line Manager
**Required skills & experience**
- Proven experience in data entry requiring accuracy and efficiency.
- Proven experience in drafting, proof reading and editing documentation.
- Highly literate - Ability to write, check, edit others copy ensuring a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and summarise key points from the copy supplied.
- Ability to produce fast and accurate copy in a time-pressured and deadline-driven environment.
- Methodical and well organised approach - strong skills in planning, organising and self-managing workload
- Teamwork - ability to work and communicate inside & outside the department
- Strong computer & keyboard skills - intermediate use of Excel and Outlook
- An understanding of DIY/Trade products would be advantageous.
- GCSE Level English grade A or B essential.
