Product Data Governance Coordinator

Overview

Screwfix is a leading retailer in the UK, and we're looking for a skilled Product Data Governance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our product data team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our product data across all channels.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse product types from new product consol sheets and identify correct subgroup location, attributes, and rules required to ensure products are showcased effectively online.
  • Ensure any proposals for new subgroups are consistent with existing data formatting and will enable customer purchasing decisions.
  • Challenge the creation of new subgroups where the volume does not merit this.
  • Highlight data issues on the consol sheet and take responsibility for resolution in conjunction with Trading.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Merchandising and Trading teams to ascertain the best way forward for new product areas of the business.
  • Ensure consistency of approach in the construction and development of product selling data for the web.
  • Liaise with internal departments to identify and resolve queries/issues that arise from product data and hierarchy.
  • Work with external suppliers to capture missing data if applicable.
  • Influence stakeholders to improve the structure of data across all product categories.
  • At the direction of the Product Data Governance Manager, work on ad-hoc projects to change/improve the ways in which we collect and manage data.
  • Pro-actively meet deadlines and workload priorities to ensure new product launch projects are not compromised.
  • Prioritize own workload and escalate potential issues.
  • Challenge behavior that does not support a team working environment.
  • Create a sense of energy and pace based upon personal example.
  • Actively demonstrate a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Efficient, with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of conflicting data to make decisions.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to work and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected change, whilst ensuring objectives are met.
  • Confident and competent in MS Office applications (Excel, Word) and open to learning in-house systems and applications.
