About the Role

Screwfix is seeking a highly skilled Product Data Governance Specialist to join our team. As a Product Data Governance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of product data across our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzing product types from new product catalogs to identify correct subgroup locations, attributes, and rules required to ensure products are showcased effectively online.
  • Ensuring proposals for new subgroups are consistent with existing data formatting and will enable customer purchasing decisions.
  • Challenging the creation of new subgroups where the volume does not merit this.
  • Highlighting data issues on the catalog and taking responsibility for resolution in conjunction with the Trading team.
  • Collaborating with the Digital Merchandising and Trading teams to determine the best approach for new product areas of the business.
  • Ensuring consistency of approach in the construction and development of product selling data for the web.
  • Liaising with internal departments to identify and resolve queries/issues that arise from product data and hierarchy.
  • Working with external suppliers to capture missing data if applicable.
  • Influencing stakeholders to improve the structure of data across all product categories.
  • Working on ad-hoc projects to change/improve the ways in which we collect and manage data at the direction of the Product Data Governance Manager.
  • Proactively meeting deadlines and workload priorities to ensure new product launch projects are not compromised.
  • Prioritizing own workload and escalating potential issues.
  • Challenging behavior that does not support a team working environment.
  • Creating a sense of energy and pace based on personal example.
  • Actively demonstrating a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Efficient with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of conflicting data to make decisions.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to work and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected change, while still ensuring objectives are met.
  • Confident and competent in MS Office applications (Excel, Word) and open to learning in-house systems and applications.
