At **Late** **Respiratory & Immunology **(Late R&I), we’re driven by innovation and our dedication to make a real-life difference in patients’ lives. That difference starts with you. We are part of the BioPharmaceutical R&D unit. Here, you will get the opportunity to work in a truly international environment and meet and discuss with key opinion leaders, and authorities in science, as well as commercial, regulatory, and other functions.

As the Scientific Communications & Engagement Lead within Late Respiratory & Immunology, you will be responsible for developing, managing and delivering integrated communication plans that positively impact AstraZeneca's culture, employee engagement and performance.

Working within a dynamic environment you will directly support the Senior Vice President, Late R&I, the Head of Business Planning and Operations and the Leadership Team to develop direct science engagement and communications for internal and external activities. You will drive the monthly reporting, and various science events for the department. You will also work closely with the R&I Communications Team within Biopharmaceuticals R&D as well as Corporate Affairs, Global Medical Affairs and Global Commercial.

**This role is fixed-term for 12 months, ideally starting from mid-June 2023.**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build and develop engaging communication content and materials for both internal and external events, ensuring full engagement of the Late R&I organisation across the globe
- Engage and energise colleagues with our priorities and report progress
- Drive community building and best practice sharing
- Responsible for team inputs into R&I Communications within Biopharmaceuticals R&D as well as Corporate Affairs, Global Medical Affairs and global commercial organisation
- Responsible for inputs into monthly Senior Executive Team (SET) reports and Town Halls
- Actively seek out and promote the Science stories, Post Cards and communication around publications and successes
- Lead and facilitate the development of relevant content for the Late R&I Nucleus page, SPOL, Workplace, and other platforms and communication channels as is appropriate
- Drives the material for communication of strategic progress throughout the year (e.g. Scorecard; Mid-Term Planning)
- Develop and maintain compliant content for communicating Late R&I’s vision with key external experts and trial investigators

**Essential Requirements**:

- MS in Life science
- Strong ability to engage, influence and collaborate across boundaries with delivery focus and a problem-solving attitude
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical drug discovery and development process
- Scientific in-depth knowledge in the R&I field or related areas
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with proven track record of delivering in line with timescales

**Desirable Requirements**:

- PhD in Life science
