This is an exciting time to join our Trust as we begin realising the full potential of integrated service provision in Somerset.

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust & Yeovil District Hospital Foundation Trust are on course to merge in April 2023. The completion of this merger will create what is an almost unique opportunity in England for a single Foundation Trust to provide a full range of acute, community and mental health services for children, young people and families. In addition to providing this comprehensive range of services for children, young people and adults, our new Trust will provide almost one quarter of Primary Care services for our population of 580,000 people, opening up further opportunities for innovation and service improvement.

Role Summary

The Service Group Director will provide positive and inspiring leadership across a broad range of teams throughout the service group and will facilitate the development of a culture and working environment that enables all our front-line colleagues to innovate and deliver the highest possible standards of clinical care.

All of our service groups operate a triumvirate leadership model where our Service Group Directors work as part of a team alongside our senior clinical leaders. Additional support will be available from the Chief Operating Officer and an experienced peer group of Service Group Directors.
