Applications are invited for a Consultant Community Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician to join our friendly, supportive and enthusiastic team within East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is a part time (7 PA), substantive post. It will be office based in Tower View Offices, Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, working in hospital and community-based outpatient settings across the trust footprint. Flexible working arrangements are possible for non-patient facing work activities. There is no Acute Paediatric on call commitment associated with this post.

Applicants must have full registration with the GMC and be included on the Specialist Register for Community Child Health or Paediatric Neurodisability (or equivalent, such as CCT in General Paediatrics with ability to demonstrate meeting L3 competencies for Community Child Health) or be within 6 months of obtaining Community Child Health or Paediatric Neurodisability CCT.

Satisfactory completion of previous posts providing professional training in General Paediatrics, Community Paediatrics and Neonatology as recognised by the RCPCH is essential.

The Interview date / time for this post is set for 19 th July 2024 starting at 2pm and will be Virtual via MSTeams.

The post represents an exciting opportunity to be the Medical Lead for the Neurodevelopmental Pathway, working collaboratively within a large, expanding multidisciplinary Community Neurodevelopmental Paediatric dedicated service.

The post holder will undertake outpatient clinics to undertake medical assessment and medical management of a range of problems.

The Child Health Service in East Lancashire is the largest centralised children’s service in the North West and one of the largest in the country, serving a diverse population of around 520,000 people.

Within the Family Care Division there are also General / Acute Paediatrics, Neonatology and Child Psychiatry services. There are also many sub-specialty services. The Child Health Services are active in undergraduate and postgraduate specialist training.

**This role will involve the following duties**:
To provide medical leadership to the Neurodevelopmental team and develop the Neurodevelopmental Pathway to the provision of a high quality service following NICE guidance. To overview all clinical roles and team Job Planning within the Neurodevelopmental Pathway.
Provide clinical guidance to members of the team and other staff with complex cases
Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team involved in diagnostic assessment across Blackburn and Darwen and East Lancashire.
Undertake a comprehensive assessment with Children and Young People referred for Autism assessment on the Neurodevelopmental Pathway.
Provide comprehensive clinical reports clearly outlining clinical reasoning and recommendations, including highly complex case management.
Assist the service in involving service users, their carers and family in service improvements and delivery of high quality care.
Maintain/ develop links with ICB and network with neighbouring Neurodevelopmental teams
Ensure wider ELHT clinical team maintains skills and CPD in Autism / ADHD
Provide information and liaison to neurodevelopmental pathway referrer groups e.g. GPs
Provide advice for queries - triage, assessment e.g. ADOS-2
**Attend relevant meetings - such as**: Autism team meeting, Autism senior management meeting, ICB strategy board
Audit of Neurodevelopmental Pathway
Consultation in and management of complaints relating to Neurodevelopmental Pathway clinical work.
