Here at The Maples, we have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join us on a full-time basis at our 12 bed, CQC registered, step-through mental health Service based in South Gloucestershire on the outskirts of Thornbury.
We support adults aged 18-65 with complex mental health diagnosis and we support with the transition out to the community; the service's core philosophy is the promotion of independence, health and social recovery through bespoke rehabilitation and care/support planning for these adults. We believe a diagnosis does not define our service users.
You will work with a diverse client group, and a diverse staff team made up of clinical and non-clinical staff within a community setting to achieve positive outcomes for service users in your care.
You will be directly involved in the development of the service from its inception in partnership with the Service Manager and Senior Management team.
You will work within a team and be self-motivated in order to achieve Maples goals in supporting our service users to live independently.
You will be passionate about mental health and willingness to learn new skills in all areas of complex mental health.
**What you’ll love about the Clinical Lead role with us**
As a Maples Clinical Lead, you will work in an acute mental health setting with the primary objective of taking responsibility and ownership of the Clinical Service and Clinical offering within The Park. This will include managing and owning the clinic process, clinical audits, supporting the mental & physical needs of our service users, medication administration (including depot) and upskilling our nurse team to meet the needs of our service users including clinical supervisions.
You will work alongside our Compass Team to manage service user referrals, pre-assessments, and admission this will involve liaising with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a smooth discharge from hospital settings to onboard service users to The Park.
You will be confident in recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns and will initiate referrals to support safeguarding in it’s entirety, alongside the Service Manager.
As part of your role, you will directly manage the Clinical Team and Shift Lead, in addition to supporting the training and development needs of the Support Staff (including supervisions, supporting staff wellbeing and deputising in the absence of the Service Manager).
This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week. As part of the role you will be required to work day shifts with some evening and weekend shifts.

**Who are you?**
Two years significant experience of working with individuals with complex needs in an acute setting
Registered as a Mental Health Nurse, or a Clinical Lead with significant mental health experience within another related role
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to generate and build effective relationships with colleagues, services users and external stakeholders
Experienced in formulating care/support plans and risk assessments
Able to assess and formulate recovery focused pathways across assessed needs
Able to participate as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Experience of crisis mitigation and resolution
Experience and/or knowledge of positive behaviour support, positive risk management and active support models & strategies
Have good knowledge of safeguarding, DOLS, ethics, behaviours and code of conduct when supporting vulnerable adults
Experience of supporting adults with substance misuse
Have an open mind to the recovery and support of clients using out of the box ideas to improve independence.
You will be required to complete a full DBS if successful paid for by Maples
