About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a pro-active and driven individual to step up as Head of Design & Innovation UK for the UK Packaging Division to support the ambitious growth plans of the business. This role will be providing leadership to the central SMI team, whilst driving the Design and Innovation Road Map agenda across the wider UK Packaging business.

As Head of Design & Innovation (D&I), you will be responsible for ensuring the united and succinct delivery of the Corporate Plan across the UK design and innovation community, so we are able to continue to delight our customers. Leading the UK D&I strategy from the front and working closely with the Sales functions, you will respectively challenge on KPI’s, design efficiency, innovation pipeline delivery & our capability to drive profitable growth, providing the highest level of customer service as well as delivering on our sustainability commitments.

You will champion, coach and lead by example in deploying innovative approaches to developing commercially viable solutions to meet our customers’ requirements. You will be critical to our ongoing success by ensuring that your desire to drive proactive innovation is cascaded though the team and therefore, reflected in our design tools, services, and processes.

About you
- Relevant strategic experience working at a Head of/Senior Manager level within the UK market
- Proven success, strategic knowledge, and technical experience in design & innovation within the packaging sector
- Previous experience of leading and managing teams (managing cluster teams would be highly advantageous)
- Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders around the business
- Demonstrable experience of process and improvement projects

Location: This is a full time, home-based role with frequent travel to our customers and offices.
