Head of Business Finance

Rutherford Cross is working with a highly successful FMCG business to appoint a Head of Business Finance. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with an understanding of costing and strong commercial acumen. This role will give the post-holder the opportunity to influence both operational and commercial activities and will provide regular exposure to senior stakeholders in the business. Should the Head of Business Finance add value to the company, there is scope for genuine career development as part of succession planning.
You will be leading the finance business partners to ensure the business receives first class financial partnering by way of both regular interaction as well as clear, concise, challenging and compelling MI to drive optimum business performance and enhance results.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Managing and developing finance business partners
- Driving standardisation and alignment of reporting, through management accountants, across all business units
- Enhancing management information to meet the demands of the business
- Commercial business partnering, responsible for commercial tender analysis for all customers and development thereof. Introducing “what if” scenarios and wider business impact awareness
- Developing and owning of commercial reporting
- Accountable for operational budgets and financial forecasts for commercial and all operational business units. Reviewing and challenging the information put forth by the finance business partners and operational / commercial teams prior to presentation to the Finance Director
- Working with the business to understand and drive ERP process and accuracy
- Continually developing financial and system KPIs to ensure both accuracy of data and performance of the business can be measured, understood and improved
- Site capex overview - pre and post investment appraisals
- Working closely with the Financial Controller to ensure robust financial control are in place, developed and improved, and most importantly, adhered to at all times
**Essential Skills**:
- Educated to degree level and a holder of a recognised accountancy qualification, ICAS / CIMA / ACCA
- A strong understanding of management accounting and business partnering gained within an FMCG environment
- Experience of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Navision
- Strong level of IT literacy, particularly Excel

- Superb level of organisation, prioritisation with a strong deadline focus
- Engaged team player, both within and out with a finance context

- A continuous improvement mindset combined with a high level of proactivity
**Salary**: Up to £60,000.00 per year
