**About the Trust** - S Rated ‘Good’ (‘Outstanding’ for Caring) in their most recent CQC report, South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital and community-based healthcare services to people in South Tyneside and Sunderland. **What you’ll be responsible for**
- Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight
- Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
- Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing
- Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

**You’ll have the following qualification/experience**:

- A minimum of 3 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant (Mental Health) or studying as a Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks’ clinical placements, studying towards a relevant Nursing degree
- Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
- Assist in the delivery of patient care as directed by the nurse in charge of the unit/ward, undertaking duties and activities, with limited or indirect supervision
- Carry out procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards
- Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with Trust guidelines
- Undertake regular mandatory training*
