Baltic Recruitment are currently seeking a Lead Logistics Operator for our client based in the Sunderland Area on a temp to perm.

**Main assignment**:
As a Lead Logistics Operator you will actively support the Logistics Supervisor in planning and co-ordinating the day to day workload of the Logistics department to ensure that all warehousing and stores activities including the receipt, storage and distribution of materials and goods runs safely and efficiently. In addition you will operate manual handling equipment to ensure the safe, efficient, secure and controlled receipt, storage and movement of stock/ materials in accordance with company procedures

As a Lead Logistics Operator you are accountable for;
- Providing input into the management of direct reports including but limited to, recruitment, performance management, reward and recognition and training and development
- Supporting the logistics supervisor in planning, coordinating and deploying resource on-shift to achieve operational goals and objectives, ensuring internal/external customer satisfaction
- Working with the logistics supervisor to oversee daily operations and workflow; ensuring delivery On Time and In Full (OTIF) to internal and external customers
- Providing holiday/absence cover for the logistics supervisor, including but not limited to being the point of contact for the logistics warehouse
- Promptly informing the relevant departments of operational changes/concerns for example; material shortages, defected/damaged parts in the absence of the logistics supervisor
- Operating manual handling equipment, ensuring the safe, efficient, secure and controlled receipt, storage and movement of stock/ materials in accordance with company procedures
- Scanning stock/materials to ensure traceability along the entire supply chain
- Maintaining SAP MRP by accurately inputting various transactions, record updating and reporting as required.
- Escalating issues by following the escalation procedure
- Adhering to quality standards and requirements, including all QMS related items.
- Adhering to all legal and safety requirements including; Driver safety standards
- Adhering to housekeeping schedules within own and related areas
- Championing the companies code of conduct, policies and procedures

**Essential qualifications or equivalent experience**
- Valid Counter Balance Fork Lift Truck License
- Relevant experience within high volume manufacturing
