This is an exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Department at Fairfield General Hospital as part of the Senior Nursing team.We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, experienced and committed leader with excellent communication skills who will inspire their teams through positive role modelling.

The role itself is pivotal in supporting the delivery of high quality, patient care that delivers against identified National and local targets whilst continually improving the patients journey and having a positive impact on care delivery.

**The role of the Matron will focus on six main areas**:

- Providing a clean environment
- Ensuring best practice in infection control
- Improving clinical care standards
- Treating patients with dignity and respect
- Providing clinical areas with senior nurse leadership during both regular and unsocial hours ; and
- Ensuring all quality improvement work is implemented and sustained.

The matron will provide support and guidance to the Emergency Department, ensuring that they work closely with the Senior Nursing Team including Lead Nurse and unit Manager. There will be a focus on supporting the Emergency Department to reach and maintain Green status within the NCA Nursing Assessment and Accreditation System.

**The role of the Quality Matron focus on six main areas**:

- Ensuring all quality improvement work is implemented and sustained

The Quality Matron will provide support and guidance to the Ward Teams, ensuring that they work to:

Patient & Customer Focus

Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues and

proactively personalise the service, connect with patients and carers

Identify opportunities to reduce waste and inefficiency and look at ways

of measuring and auditing improvements and proactively develop goals

and objectives in support of the Trusts vision.

Accountability

Recognised and accept and display personal accountability beyond the

job role and towards problem solving and act with integrity and focus

on results.

Respect

Be considerate of others, their contribution and needs, support and

empower staff involvement and act as a guardian of the Trusts
