Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a passionate, proactive and autonomous team player to join the Gynaecology team as Assistant Service Manager.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and time management skills, be able to work under pressure and be a flexible team player. The candidate will ideally have proven experience working at Assistant Service Manager level working in NHS acute services.

This post plays a key role within the departments triumvirate working closely with the departments clinical lead and matron. The post holder will be primarily responsible for the day to day operational management, achievement of key performance metrics and service improvement of gynaecology services.

The Gynaecology service is welcoming and supportive and comprises of innovative clinical teams passionate about delivering safe, high-quality care to patients across West Suffolk.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will oversee the allocation of resource across gynaecology services in collaboration with clinical lead and matron. This will include overseeing; medical rota management with rota co-ordinator, UEC pathway management with ward teams and RTT pathway management with secretarial lead. In addition, the post holder will act as a point of escalation for staff within the service to ensure smooth delivery of services as well as addressing any non-clinical issues impacting on service delivery eg) estates/IT.
