This is an exciting opportunity to join Research and Impact Services (R&IS), a collegiate, vibrant and dynamic department that provides a vital contribution in supporting Warwick’s internationally leading research endeavours. R&IS is seeking a Research Support Officer to provide support across research grants and contracts to research active staff within the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Medicine.

**JOB PURPOSE**

To provide dedicated support to the research active staff in the University by providing comprehensive advice and support to researchers on issues relating to grants, contracts and tenders for externally funded research.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

5. Preparing and negotiating contractual and legal agreements with academic and commercial partners, working with the Research Support Manager as required, concerning terms including liabilities, intellectual property rights and price.

6. Preparing agreements related to contracts and grant-funded activity e.g. sub-contracts and collaboration agreements using University standard agreements, where appropriate.

8. Ensuring that key contractual obligations of the contracts and grants have been highlighted to the researchers and their Head of Departments as appropriate.

10. Liaising with the funding bodies on their procedures, regulations, terms, and conditions.

11. Contributing to regular reviews of the terms and conditions of the major research awarding bodies, e.g. Research Councils, charities, Government Departments and the European Commission.

12. Contributing to the development of proposal and project management systems, and research ethics/sponsorship databases management information provision and the promotion of the University's research capabilities, facilities, expertise, and successes in research to support the effective management and enhancement of the University’s research activities.

14. To liaise with the R&IS Research Governance & Ethics Team, in order to provide academics with advice and guidance as regards research ethics, research sponsorship and quality assurance.

15. To liaise with the R&IS Research Compliance Team to provide academics with support and ensure research activity is in compliance with latest legislation and best practice around due diligence, export controls, and other regulations.

16. To support the Assistant Director and the Research Support Mangers in the preparation of reports and other documents as required for internal or external audit or compliance visits.
