We have a wide variety of WLB assets across the Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire Area (LNA), including pumping stations, weirs, rain gauges and boreholes, all of which help us monitor and manage water for the benefit of people and wildlife.
Managing data about these assets is at the heart of asset management and is the key enabler for effective decision-making and delivery. Such data is managed through a database called AIMS:OM (Asset Information Management System, Operations and Maintenance). The Data Improvement Plan is a national priority, delivery of which will be part of this role.
The role will include:
- Cleansing and improving of data in AIMS:OM database, according to the Data Improvement Plan, and local needs.
- Supporting ways to improve sustainability and resilience of assets by improving the data.
- Setting up of recurring maintenance activities and inspections in AIMS:OM.
- Potential for occasional site visits for data verification purposes.
- The team- Reporting to the WLB Asset Management Team Leader, you will work with a range of colleagues from asset management both in Area and National, including teams such as Hydrometry and Telemetry (H&T), Groundwater and Contaminated Land (GWCL), Hydrology, and Fisheries, Biodiversity and Geomorphology (FBG). There may be a need for joined up working with colleagues from other business functions. You will form part of a national community of practice for asset management.
- Experience/skills required
- Ability to input, collate, interrogate, interpret and report on different sources of data in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information.
- Work under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve outcomes.
- Have an eye for detail, be efficient and able to persevere with tasks.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to develop and maintain good relationships.
Experience in asset management work is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.- Contact and additional information- Base location can be either Lincoln, Kettering, Peterborough, or Nottingham with occasional travel required for meetings and site visits.
It is expected that this role can be done in a hybrid way, with a mix of home and office working, depending on individual circumstances and business operational needs.
Interviews are planned to take place week commencing 01/07/24.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
