We are looking to recruit to a full time Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP)/Trainee ACP within our mental health crisis services. This is an excellent opportunity to advance on your career pathway, enhance your clinical skills and influence/improve the quality and effectiveness of the care we provide to people in mental health crisis on the Isle of Wight.

You will be able to demonstrate critical thinking and be a caring, compassionate and committed experienced nurse. Acting within their professional boundaries, you will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.

This role is enacted as an autonomous senior clinical professional working at the ‘expert’ level as defined in the local Integrated Advanced Clinical Practice Framework. Clinical duties will be undertaken without direct supervision but in collaboration with a designated Lead Clinical Supervisor.

As part of a multi-professional team, the post holder will practice autonomously, whilst being accountable and self-directed in line with the relevant code of professional conduct.

To provide expert clinical advice, leadership and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis and advanced decision-making skills.

Participate in change, to monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research and education. To promote and demonstrate best practice by integrating evidence into practice.

Contribute to the planning and development of integrated services.
