Clinical Practitioner Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enhanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Preoperative Assessment Unit at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical assessments to patients undergoing surgery, identifying potential perioperative risks, and developing effective care plans to ensure safe and successful outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients undergoing surgery, including history taking and physical examination
- Identify potential perioperative risks and develop effective care plans to mitigate these risks
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests as required, and make sound clinical decisions regarding patient care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote informed decision-making and self-care

Requirements- Registered Nurse with current registration and a degree in Nursing
- Substantial post-registration experience in acute care, preferably in preoperative assessment
- Completed specialist education and competencies in preoperative assessment, or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to motivate and inspire others, with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care
